Fundraisers

India is the second most populous country in the world with over 1.3 billion citizens. It has one of the highest poverty rates in the world with over 21% of their population making less than the equivalent of $1.25 per day. One of the largest challenges in India lies in its caste system that divides people into groups and determines how they’ll live. At the bottom of the scale beneath the caste system are the Untouchables, known as Dalits.

While the Caste System has been outlawed over 75 years ago, it still exists in rural villages. There are over 200 million Dalits, many who continue to live in extreme poverty and are exposed to starvation and sickness. They endure social isolation and have less access to services. Their chances of moving forward are often impossible without help. Ethos Global was created when we recognized the need to work with this deprived, excluded, and vulnerable population in India to help make a difference in several critical areas of their lives.
